Jonathan LaCour serves as CEO and Managing Attorney of Employees First Labor Law (EFLL) and WIN Injury & Accident Trial Lawyers, two of California's fastest-growing plaintiffs' firms, and as founding partner and lead trial counsel of LaCour Trial Lawyers, the firm's class-action practice representing communities harmed by wildfires, chemical releases, and industrial disasters. He is a seasoned trial lawyer in wrongful termination, wage-and-hour violations, FEHA discrimination and harassment claims, retaliation, workers' compensation, and personal injury.
He began his career in corporate law as in-house counsel at a large manufacturing company before moving to employment law and founding EFLL in October 2016. That vantage point — knowing how employers actually make decisions and paper them — still shapes how he builds a case. He has directed the firms' expansion to seven offices across Southern and Central California while continuing to try and settle high-stakes cases himself, including a $2,000,000 jury verdict in Dababneh v. DOJA, Inc. in San Bernardino Superior Court in 2025.
Education and training.
Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor at Loyola Law School, where he was selected to the Federal Bar Association National Moot Court Team and earned national recognition competing against the country's top law schools, developing the foundational trial skills he still relies on: advanced brief writing, complex motion practice, and high-stakes oral argument.
He later completed a year-long executive program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business focused on leadership, organizational strategy, and scaling high-growth teams. His capstone, "Shifting from Reactive to Proactive Case Management Culture," was implemented directly at EFLL and now governs how every matter is staffed, calendared, and prepared for trial from day one. He is admitted to the State Bar of California.
Recognition.
Jonathan has been selected to the Super Lawyers list for 2026 and 2027 after six consecutive years as a Rising Star (2020–2025). He is a member of the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums, served as 2022 President of The National Advocates (Top 40 Under 40), and has been the subject of two Attorney Journals cover features. Beyond the courtroom.
He serves as a neutral with AMAJ, the Pasadena-based ADR education and dispute-resolution institute he is helping build, and mediates employment and business disputes. He invests in early-stage, operator-led companies, and supports Pasadena Humane.
